Back on the Island, a Beautiful Day for a Ferry Ride

Vacuums roar as I clean up a little for the apartment transition (I only have it 40% of the time) and get out of the place by 10am so I can stop at the Lowe’s in Smokey Point for a Woody’s Dog — they use all the Vienna Beef Chicago Hot Dog products. Not good for me, but damn tasty.

12:30 ferry to the islands. Mount Baker is out — shot is from the cell phone, which explains the lack of clarity, still have to get all this technology integrated. And maybe I’ll work on the technology page for the UMTravels blog so you all will know what’s in the toy box.

Bad shot of Mount Baker taken from the ferry terminal.

Driving the Z3 means they usually put my in the center lane since I’m one of the smallest things in line, and I fit nicely between the semi-trucks. I was number two to get off the boat.

Back at the church to find a LARGE box that thankfully Ron from Paper Scissors on the Rock dragged over from his shop where I have things shipped. 70 pounds of new 32″ LCD TV for the city apartment. Hopefully we will a decent HDTV signal since it has a built-in ATSC tuner. Modern technology here we come.

The BIG BOX holding the 32

It’s been clear for the last couple of days so I got out the blower and knocked the leaves off the decks and sidewalks. Also pulled the awning down over the hot tub to keep more leaves out of the tub — which also seems to have a bit of a heating problem, but that’s tomorrow problem. But now the place is clean for all those prospective buyers.

Of course I had to unbox it and set it up on one of the airline carts (the only thing with wheels that was handy). Makes my office look like an ad for LCD products. A little problem with menus, but resolved. Watched a strange movie that Chris passed along from Michael down on the coast — Three Dancing Slaves. Subtitles, so I actually had to pay attention — but didnt’ need glasses!

Office with all the computers and LCD screens running. Big new TV for the city apartment.

And then back to work, then the news, and then to bed.
