Sun keeps popping in and out, in the 70s rather than the low 80s and the household has firmly settled into a routine of lounging around in the morning reading whatever papers we can find. USAToday (McNews) is delivered to the doorstep, Dad walks up to the gift shop to get the New York Times, and eventually I make my way to the front counter to see if they have any freebie Financial Times.
10:30 is shopping at Trader Joes and Chicos, followed by a lunch of leftovers, followed by a showing of The Queen at 1:45.
Jen is doing up a dinner from TJs of lamb chops with the McCormick’s Montreal Steak Seasoning, french green beans, some dinner rolls, and, of course, some left over bits from the thanksgiving meal.
Dad opened a bottle of Navarro Rose around 3:30 and had a glass. Totally shocked me. Dad’s almost a teetotaller these days after years in steel sales. Dinner was a Chilean Malbec and another red, leaving a bottle of champagne and two reds for tomorrow. Thank god Joe in Tucson has a wine cellar (and a damn fine scotch collection).
