Well, today is sightseeing with Kennan and Emily, and chauffeured by Mom.
Today’s sight? Taliesin West — the winter studio of Frank Lloyd Wright and still operating as an architecture school. We went for the 90 minute guided tour and I was surprised Emily made it through without getting bored and mouthy — she might have been bored, but there wasn’t any complaining — must have been the thought of In-And-Out Burgers for lunch and shopping with her mom after that kept the mall-rat in check.
Taliesin West was truly amazing. Guess this means that now I’m going to have to see Taliesin East in Wisconsin. Below is a little picture from my day trip.

Dinner tonight is at the Banana Leaf — the big question is, are we eating at the restaurant, are dragging it back in. With two under the age of 16 the later might be better than the former. Eating in… makes me wish I’d followed through on my threat to eat at the lakeside restaurant at the resort.
After dinner Jen runs me to the airport, which isn’t as close as I’d thought. Hello, Payless Rent a Car. The chap at the counter reviews my reservation and tries to upgrade me to a Chysler Sebring Convertible for $5.99 a day more… no sale. “Do you have a AAA card?” Yes. “$3.99 a day.” No sale. I’ll take the tin box, it’s just atrip to/from Tucson. Economy tin-box $11 a day rental turns out to be a gold Ford Taurus. The advantage of coming at the end of the day. Demand your tin box, get a bigger car because they have no tin boxes.
