So here I am, typing away, laptop on the steering wheel, logged in to the Internet. Very weird, but time-saving, though it’s playing havoc with catching up on the Wall Street Journal.
Was up at 5:15 this morning and out of the house by 5:45 — driving through tons of downed branches. Good thing I brought the 4wd mommy van. The 6:40am was surprisingly on time considering the amount of wind and damage from the night before.
Maybe I’ll get some new shots of that tomorrow, now that there is a 30 foot treetop pointed point-first into the path to the parking area…. it took out three of the plastic nuns that line the path.
Got to Kristina’s place a little after 9am, exhausted, delivered her business cards, picked up a check for that and website work, and changed my plans to include a nap in the city apartment.
The nap went well, for an hour, then Jill called (noon meeting at the apartment), then Julian (yes, the ferries are running on time), and then Chris comes in since there is no power at the office.
A note about the apartment — about a quarter of the covered garage was out of service due to a SEWAGE backup of about a foot deep. Now THAT is disgusting. They got the drain going and were steam cleaning and scrubbing it down when I left to head back to the island about 12:30pm.
A dog and light stop at Lowes — the lights are to outline the deck and steps, should probably get more for the path! Got to the ferry about 45 minutes early and started working on this post.
Dinner is steaks on the grill and salad. Maybe I should make some bread or rice or some starch. Not for me, of course. Wine shipments from Ridge and Bonney Doon came in within the last couple of days, so at least we have good wine.
Been squeezing work in wherever I can, makes up for yesterday that I put in 18 hours on various clients.
