Heading out for my brother and sis-in-law’s house this morning. Will stop at the Sentry Market for the free dozen eggs courtesy of the WorldMark local merchant coupon board.
Download speeds this morning are in the mid-400′s, but who’s complaining.
So, on the way down the coast I stop at Yachats, Oregon, and behind the post office (card to Steve in lockup) I find this seriously cool motorhome — sort of like the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile meets the Wanderlodge. Take alook at this photo!
Another stop on the way is in Coos Bay proper, at the apartment of a friend of Marty and Eric’s who they have lost contact with. Apparently he is old as dirt, and they aren’t even sure he’s alive. And I can tell you: it isn’t an apartment, it’s the slip number in an incredibly run-down mobile home park, where nothing is newer than twenty years old except for the flocks of children. I felt likea process server stuffing the note in the camper trailer with the padlock on the door. Makes me want to go look up Bryan in Pacific City, who runs a surf board shop, speaking of old friends.
That’s it for now — a report on connectivity will follow. That would be a nice Christmas Eve present.

Like a lump of coal….

So — it turns out that this is a 28′ Daystar with a teak interior that retailed for $75,000 in the late 1970s. One of 16 made. Here is a link to one for sale for $45,000. Here is the link:
