Nothing like waking up in a new city each morning. This morning we have landed on the lovely isle de Maui.
Jeff’s plans for the day are renting a car and heading to the nude beach even though it’s overcast. Today he is sucessful in his endevors and returns about 6pm in time for dinner at East Meets West — one of the “premium” restaurants that charges a cover ($10 per person). It was OK — but when you live in the International District in Seattle, you get spoiled.
My plans — get an ad put together for Shirts of Bamboo, and get off the ship in the afternoon to explore the neighborhood. Turns out we are a ten minute walk from an open air mall that features a grocery store, Long’s Drugs (Kona Coffee, Diet Coke, batteries, coffee filters), a hair salon ($14 for a cut, shampoo and blow dry) and a stop at the Maui County store where I got two pins for my hat (one police, one fire).
Here is a shot of Jeff and I at Pink’s Champagne having not champagne, but a Mai Tai (Jeff) and a Pina Colada (me).
So — dinner was at East Meets West — not really worthy of the $10 cover charge in my opinion — but that’s what it is, an opinion.
After dinner was the crew talent show. All boring except for the finale, which was homoerotic to say the least — pictures below:
