Today we are off to visit Jeff’s friend and his boyfriend. Getting Jeff up and out in the morning is…. interesting? challenging? fruitless? You’d think he was on vacation or something.
So, we meet his Israeli buddy at a little after 11 at the gates of the cruise ship terminal for a ride up to the house that he is building up on the hillside about a half an hour from town. STUNNING VIEWS — apparently when it isn’t socked in you can see both Molokai and Lanai.
You can find the pictures of the house and the view (they should be clustered together) but clicking this link.
A winery tour after thehouse tour with three of his other friends from San Jose and Salt Lake City — Maui’s only winery — lots of pineapple based stuff, only one red, unless you count the Raspberry wine which was an after dinner — very sweet. Oh, and lunch at Grandmother Coffee House, one of the oldest on the island. So old, it has no bathrooms (the site says go to the state park up the road). The Israeli’s Alabama born boyfriend takes up back to the boat — a sweet couple.
Jeff met up with half of the other Friends of Dorothy couple on board — they said they’d come by for cocktails before dinner, but lied — well, they overslept from their naps. We are now on for drinks and dinner tomorrow.
Dinner in the Liberty (free) dining room. Clueless waiter, and the food wasn’t nearly as good as it was the last time we were there. I had the beef short back ribs which came witha mashed potato/corn cake thing. The starter of the seafood cake (croquette) wasn’t bad.
An early night for both of us — the entertainment doesn’t look all that good, and we are both beat from the sun with Jeff more red than I, but both with aloe on us now.
