Today is Kona, anchored in the bay and tendered to shore right in the heart of te tourist district.
Chris, my friend from Arcata, is meeting us a ten to do a little kiki (kiddie) snorkeling just north of town, but south of the airport. Looks like mostly locals, and is close to the deep sea fishing charter terminal.
After a couple of hours on the beach it was back to town for lunch — I’ve totally forgotten the name of the place, but it was on the second floor withgreat view and the owner seemed to be gay — must have been the show tunes at 2:30 in the afternoon (or the standard sized poodle lurking by the kitchen).
I went back to the ship early while Chris and Jeff went to see if Mask (the gay bar in Kona) was open — closed indefinately due to owner’s health issues. That doesn’t sound good.
Cocktails with Jim and Paul from the other day, then off to dinner in the Liberty Dining room for lobster and prime rib night. Was a good dinner, might be doing something with them tommorrow.
Jeff ordered room service at midnight, and I hung the tag for breakfast in the room in the morning.
