Done with the island for a bit.

11am boat off the island was the plan — but stayed up all night to get the directory done for the gathering at Breitenbush so I don’t have to come back to the island for Sunday/Monday night …. due to play poker in Oly tonight, and hopefully show the house in Oly, that would be nice. But no email from possible renters, may stop over in the morning to check on the current renters.

Lots of driving today. Should have called the Oly renters to see if I can patch/prep things before they move. Wish they wouldn’t, I’ve liked them as tenants.

Lunch in the city apartment from downstairs — over to the new house to check on the painter — running behind schedule, then back to the apartment for a nap.

A counter to the counter-offer came in for the church. They originally offered $325,000 with enough contingencies that a sneeze would cancel it (price was $480,000), I came back killing most of those, and $455,000 — they upped it to $350,000 but we are still $100K off, so I basically said — let their offer expire.

Turns out CHRIS won’t be staying — rent is going up to $1200 and parking up to $135. Ouch. It was fun while it lasted. Guess we get to make a clean break.

Dinner was snacks at the poker game. Scott brought cheese/chili dip (add fritos and you have a frito chili pie) and fresh baked cookies. That and some beef jerky in the car on the way down — traffic was surprising light, only a couple of spots of stop and go — one hour fifteen isn’t bad these days, and for a Friday night, amazing.

Pushed a wad of singles and fives in my wallet after one good hand, the change is dwindling though — think I’m up about $20 for the night. But down a half case of port (Bonny Doon — gifts to the regular players), scotch, cigarettes. All good fun.

Tomorrow work on the Seattle house with a stop at Boeing Surplus on the way up to look for a better handle for the trap door to the attic.
