After a lazy morning which included leftover chicken and stuffing for my breakfast, today’s adventure is into Coffs Harbour proper. There is a huge botanical garden, and we can track down where the bus station is for Joyce’s arrival tomorrow. Just Marty and I for this run, Eric winded himself on their exploration of the river and the way to the beach. Will probably do the botanical garden the day after Joyce arrives as I’m sure she’d love to see it as well.
Think today will be pool afternoon for me, actually get into the water for a bit. But it didn’t happen. Ended up exploring parts of Coffs Bay and Sawtell (where the resort is). There is an Internet coffee shop in Sawtell that I’ll check out on Wednesday — they are closed today, and there is a sign in the window, closed Tuesday, sorry for the inconvenience. Blog is going to be posted late it looks like.
Free drinks from 5 to 6 tonight with the other “owners”…. the red wine wasn’t bad. Marty and Eric had various types of draft beer. They put out three platters of nibbles, that were gone in under 5 minutes. It was a light rain when we arrived — and in the same amount of time it took the appetizers to disappear, it had turned into a downpour complete with thunder and lightning. Luckily it passed by the time we were done with the meet and greet. Had offers for a shared barbie tomorrow, and the use of a laptop with broadband — if only I could remember their names.
Tonight is lamb slabs, with baked potatoes and an insalata caprese (tomatoes, mozzarella, Bermuda onion, dressing), and…. wait…. wine.
