Woke up to overcast with the sun trying to peek out. By ten it was another downpour with no sun in sight. At least the eggs and bacon were sunny.
Today’s plan. Write postcards, finish Tarek’s unpublished manuscript, use the internet terminal to deal with longer emails and check on a hotel in Sydney, shopping for dinner tonight, picking up Joyce. That should tire me out.
Interesting article in The Atlantic Monthly March edition: They Won’t Know What Hit Them. It’s about software mogul Tim Gill and his targeted giving to state and local campaigns to defeat anti-gay candidates. Will try and find a link to the article.
There was a theory that we would get together with some people we met last night for a little BBQ Australian style… but with the rain all day, those plans are off. We have a quiet (well, as quiet as can be with Joyce in attendance) dinner at home.
Dinner tonight is Kangaroo that I’ve been marinating for the afternoon. Think gamy steak — with so little fat that it’s like that low-fat grass fed beef. No marbling, that’s why I went for the marinade, then broiled it to medium rare. A nice green salad, a baguette, and wine and we are all set.
Marty and Eric in bed early as usual, Joyce sleeping on the couch (like she does at home) and reading into the night, and me working on a marketing book (Brand Hijacking) that I’ve been trying to finish for months.
