Joyce left early for the airport — 6:45am — good thing I said goodbye last night.
We actually got out of the resort by 8am! We split the driving back to Sydney — Eric first, then Marty, then me. Breakfast was a sausage McMuffin on the road (for all three of us!)
Lunch at Hungry Jacks — which looks and feels like the Burger King of Australia — complete with Whoppers. The joys of a day on the road — quick food is good food.
We were checked in by 3:30 and drinking by 4pm. There is a great bottle shop just up the road: a bottle of red, a bottle of white, and an on sale bottle of 12 year old single malt Irish whiskey from Jameson. Also found the gay hotel (block and a half), and a two story gay bar (a block), and a pub (catty corner) with a backpacker hotel above. I think I like this neighborhood!
Meeting with Melinda, who is a Shirts of Bamboo customer, with her partner around 6:30 so they can look at my crumbly laundry — at least it’s samples.
Dinner with Marty and Eric afterwards, assuming they don’t abandon me and hit the pub early.
Need to get the car turned in and catch my 11:30 flight in the morning…. god, I hate thinking about the rental return process. A day late and with all sorts of its I didn’t see because the car was wet when I picked it up.
