Checked out by 8:30 for the three and a half hour drive back to Auckland. I won’t miss the large picture windows of the timeshare with my passion for wandering around in my birthday suit.
Some roadwork, but nothing major. With a gas/food stop, made the airport rental car place by noon. No problems with the car other than it redefines “tuna can”. They had to run me to the international terminalin the same car, guess I shouldn’t have unloaded it!
Check in fine — though when they put me in an aisle seat they forgot to pull the departure tax stamp off the back — I was at customs before I noticed — she apologized many times, but I’m just thankful for the aisle seat.
Lunch was a Greek Salad, very good, and a bottle of Coke Zero. Diet Coke, but different somehow.
Phone service good enough for Internet on the laptop so blog updates!
Supposed to arrive at 6PM, then drive to Ballarat which is 90 minutes away — hopefully I get their before the office closes at 9PM — next time — daylight driving only!
No such luck. With a stop at Cole’s (groceries) and bad directions from WorldMark it’s 9:30 by the time I get here (seriously needing scotch). Time to get a steak in the broiler and a salad on the plate. Gorgeous place the WorldMark Ballarat.
Exhausted and crawling into bed at 11:00. Out like a light.
