UMTravels

OK — so first, the new photos that I’ve been promising for days:

�So — Josh came by today, put the next (last?) coat of mud on the project that we started remodelling the house with (the laundry room) before he shot back to Ballard to earn a paycheck (I sent him two sets of towels from Shirts of Bamboo in nature colors).

After Josh left it was errands. Home Depot for some kick board to use as filler for the extra deep cabinets (they were out), welcome mats to control dirt into the house, and something to hang the damn brooms and mops from. Failing on half the items I headed to IKEA (now that it isn’t a weekend) to see what they had for organizers, pick up some more knobs (in addition to the knobs Jill picked up — I forgot the laundry room) and a silverware organizer, then off to the Tukwila Home Depot (thank god for Internet enabled T-Mobile phone to find addresses) then home to put all the stuff together.

Put up the last trellis for the raspberries and I have the downspout parts for the rain barrels (still need a new gutter on the garage). That’s moving along — there are a couple of great shots of the yard and trees starting to come alive — thanks Jeff for planting all this stuff — now my job is to not kill it.

Got the spacer panels put in, then the towel bar for the kitchen, then started in on the grate cover replacement for the bedroom hallway. The old oil furnace we took out months ago (it was dead — replaced years ago by natural gas high efficiency furnace) but the nasty foot ripping grate remained. Now it is flooring (bamboo like the kitchen). I have to let the stain dry before I can seal the edges and finish putting in the trim, but it’s damn close.

Still didn’t get the kitchen light wiring done. Maybe after dinner, maybe tomorrow before UW Surplus Sale, Storables, and picking up Jill’s knobs.
