Well, lots of errands today, but not a lot of progress on the house.
Errand number one: drop rug at D.A.Burns in Ballard, one of two good places to get a high-end rug cleaned…. and at $231+, they ain’t cheap, or quick (pick up next Tuesday).
Errand number two: Storables in University Village (god, I hate that shopping center — no place to part and two many yuppies) for pull out units for the kitchen cabinets. I got two 20″ wide for pots and pans, and one in 15″ for who knows what — haven’t stocked the kitchen yet. Also picked up two spice racks for the drawer next to the stove. THAT will be nice. I’m not used to this much storage space. Maybe I don’t need those pantry shelves in the mud room.
Errand number three: Jill’s place for knobs that she picked up at IKEA for me — in addition to the ones I picked up yesterday. Once again I underestimated.
Errand number four: UW Surplus Sale. I picked up a TON of supplies for the LaserJet 4500′s that I sold to Greg, Floating Bridge Press, and Wonderful. The retail value of these is over $600 (plus shipping)…. and I want $90 which will cover what I paid and my trouble.
Errand number five: Pick up the last of the chairs and the living room table from the apartment — that’s the last of the furniture! Needed the armless chairs to see if I can make everything slide under the table for a slick looking kitchen/dining table.
Got all the Storables stuff installed. Got the mud/laundry room walls sanded down and primed. Got the warming oven out of the garage — still haven’t heard from Anita (maybe she isn’t the email type). Guess I need to get some kitchen boxes unpacked.
Booked a trip to Tampa for a week from now (so so). Working on a NYC trip the week after that — at $250 round trip too good to pass up for that kind of mileage.
Rest of evening puttering around, and watching part two of the series on the history of Mormonism… should help me talk to Jonathan.
