How nice to be able to sleep in. I must admit that even for me that prison schedule was grueling — out of the place before 8, drive a couple of hours, chat and play games a couple of hours, drives 2-5 more hours. Hopefully he’ll get out on parole so that I don’t need to do this again. The other choice of staying in Shelby or Cut Bank is just too depressing. They are both still very much mainline railroad towns.
Waking up with snow capped peaks is something I’m getting used to. The usual coffee and banana for the early part of the day — eggs and bacon later in the day, and then I’m going to do laundry and turn the hard boiled eggs into devilled eggs, assuming they haven’t gone bad.
Finally getting to upload all the photos to Twango as witnessed below:
On tap for today. Some gem place and if I can figure out where the gondola ride is, might do that as well. Basic tourist stuff. Of course, it has to stop raining first.
The gem place was really cool — they deal (mostly) in Ammonite, Alberta’s Rare Gemstone. Only the colored Ammonite comes from Alberta, probably as a result of the last ice age. Check them out at: http://www.ammonitefactory.ca. The shot below is from their website. Nice conversation and background from Richard Morgan.

Another steak dinner with salad tonight — boring but tasty, easy, and on sale. That will finish the salad mix, the eggs and bacon will be gone by tomorrow morning with the wine and whiskey killed tonight as I’m going back across the border tomorrow sometime (unless I poop out and stop).
