In The Air, Again, and Again, and Again.

So, today is a travel day. First stop — the warehouse for 50 bags for the Great Art Party — unprinted, I’ll print a flyer and put it in the bag. Not the best solution, but the cheapest and easiest. Second stop — a huge breakfast buffet. Here is what I sampled:

  • Scrambled Eggs
  • Biscuits and Gravy
  • Sausages
  • Andouille Sausage and Red Beans
  • Carved Roast Beef and Horseradish Sauce
  • Antipasto Salad
  • Ravioli Salad
  • Cheese Blintzes
  • Plantains
  • Sushi (5 pieces)
  • Mimosas (2)

Yes, they were very small helpings of each — and still, amazingly, I’m stuffed.

Next stop is the airport — got there a 1pm for my 2:15pm flight to Philly (Leg #1). Actually paid for curbside check-in so I didn’t have to take the box to the counter, not after all that food. $2 a bag and a buck tip. And no, I’m not expensing it. It will still be fun on the other end.

Slept for half of the two hour flight, just one scotch (I pocketed the other). Funny thing about those mini’s (those 50cl bottles of booze) — apparently they don’t care that you have them in your 1-quart ziplock bag since I’ve now gone through two screenings with a mini of Craigennmore next to the tooth paste.

Logged on to United to see if my USAir miles had posted, they had — and in larger numbers than I was expecting:

That brings my total qualifying flight miles on United to 37,794 — up from 32,000 and some change before the start of this trip. Looks like I’m going to be getting EQM (Elite Qualifying Miles) on the fare bonus miles as well, that’s the only thing that would account for that — and I love it — it’s lone less trip I have to take before the end of the year.

Off to go look at all the pretty soldiers here in the terminal — must be reserve because they run from the 20′s to the 50′s in age.
