Hawaii Plans Firming Up.

Well — today is the day to deal with all things airline and travel. Late last night I got an email from www.iflygo.comannouncing a $9 each way inter-island (Hawaii) 24-hour Fare War (they said Sale). That got me into Hawaii planning mode again — booked my first weeks trip inter-island (HNL to Maui to HNL) for a whopping $29. The next weeks trip I didn’t do so good — it was $149 for HNL to Kona to Maui to HNL — only one leg was $9. I actually booked mine on Aloha because they give me United miles, and there is a promotion for double miles, and Aloha was offering some $9 fares as well. Yes, we all know that I’m a mileage whore.

First two trips this fall I’m staying at a handful of WorldMark resorts, including one I haven’t stayed at — Valley Isle on Maui. The others are the other Maui property (Kihei) and the Kona property at Kailua. No clue yet on the third trip – might just stay in Oahu (Honolulu) and not even bother to get a car.

Seattle/Tampa Mileage Update

So here are the latest totals:

Account number: 00177XXXXXX
Membership level: Premier
Current redeemable miles balance: 65,309
Year to date Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) 43,737
Year to date Elite Qualifying Segments (EQS) 22
Lifetime United flight miles: 737,673
Redeemable miles expiration date: Mar31,2009

And here are the individual totals from the entire trip. Notice that I got almost 13,000 miles for one domestic trip.

Of the 12,864 miles that I received for the trip, because it was paid first-class I got 10,025 EQM (Elite Qualifying Miles) from one round trip cross country trip — pretty much double the amount I would have gotten for a more direct economy class ticket — leaving me just 6,263 EQM short of the 50,000 needed for Premier Executive for 2008.

Now — back to Hawaii — with the bookings on Aloha, 5 segments (so far) at 500 miles per segment (2500 miles) but I don’t think those will be EQM miles, just bonus miles. I’ve been searching the www.ual.com site and can’t figure it out, so I ain’t counting on it — if Aloha was a Star Alliance member yes, thinking not since they are just a partner.
