Stove Guy, Trip Preparation, and The Great Art Party.

MoonSong working on the eaves until noon when he needs to go deal with getting his mother out of the hospital and back to Centralia. Won’t be that many years until I need to be doing things like that, but not with his mother.

Stove guy due at 10am to do the final piece of work on the stove — hopefully the final piece. Hate to think what this bill is going to be. At least it didn’t hit all at once — sort of like the easy payment plan where you don’t get the stove for six months. And another $683.70 and I have a working stove — and when all six of those burners are going — you can feel the heat rising in the kitchen.

Yesterday got the van all vacuumed out and put back together — as in, the back seat in. There was still rust flakes in there from picking up the stove at Brother Jon’s over Christmas. I’ll be driving it to California for the rafting trip to provide transportation from Markleeville to the Lee’s Ferry put in spot, then it gets shuttled to the other end of the river for the drive back to Markleeville with all the stinky river rats (well, I’m assuming we will be pretty ripe after three weeks of camping). The van looks all pretty now:

After the stove guy goes, headed up to the Wine Shop to check out the boxes of Cote de Rhone that are $30 for 5 liters. Jimmy is checking on some juice box wines as well. Not buying much up north, waiting for California to get most of it — cheaper. Will also buy my plastic bottled booze there as well. Thinking about starting the trip on the 14th with poker in Olympia, and just heading south from there — first stop English Estates Winery outside Vancouver to get some of their vintage dated wines. Although since they run at the cheapest about $50 for a 3 liter, it might not fly with our cheap rafting crowd.

Tonight is The Great Art Party, version 1. Turns out Chris will be MC’ing this thing — that should be wild. Can’t wait to see this production in action with all the work I’ve put into it (and how crazy it has been driving Wonderful Jeff). I actually signed up for a ticket — like I need more art. I’m hoping for some bamboo glassware to give to Dan and Lisa.

Today’s other hardware related news: my camera is freaking out. I’ll pick up brand new batteries to see if that is it, but this trip might call for a new camera, since the one on the phone isn’t worth shit. That’s the bad news, the good news is that Bose has a trade-in/replacement program for their QuietComfort headphones for those of us who own version 1 (the original) — $100 plus shipping for the new QuietComfort2. Now that’s a deal since they retail for $299.
