Well, the power supply brick in my new laptop is dead, dead, dead — so went to Radio Shack to source a replacement — cheapest was $85 (and the nicest was $120 — which has cords for car and airplane as well). Think I’ll head to Fry’s tomorrow and see what they have and check out yet another keyboard or USB hub since the mobile laptop only has two working USB ports — and I have like four things that need to be running, though not all at the same time.
And there were questions about the laptop mount, so here are more details (and a request for a larger picture):
The base is threaded pipe plumbing. Two mounting plates, 2 six inch pieces, 3 45 degree elbows the mount is 3/8 oriented strand board, wrapped in trim, caulked and painted black the air holes cut out for everywhere there are vents on the back of the laptop.
Dinner tonight is with Darcie and Jeanne, who haven’t seen the house yet —- and a good excuse to clean off the dining table. I really have to start packing all this stuff for the trip rather than just piling it up. At least I found some OK hiking shoes — since my boots are at the church. My iguana toned Reeboks have good tread on them.
