On The Road, But “Issues”.

Greetings from Olympia.

Recap of yesterday…. was trying to leave at 2. Looked closer to 3, when hardware issues raised their ugly head. The inverter didn’t have enough juice to power the power-hungry “RoadKill” laptop with a splitter in place. So, no signal booster, no audio from laptop to car stereo, but at least it had enough to run the wireless hub so that I have Internet (just not power-boosted Internet.

Problem number two: with only two USB ports — and more things to run, too many wires in the car. Solved problem two by going back to using the laptops funky (g, h, and \ keys missing, and the c key is really sticky). I put the keyboard in the lock-box, and the two hubs, and the 12 volt splitter. Had to get Curt’s drill out when one of the screws on the laptop screen refused to come out — needed to flip the screen back to it’s original position.

Did this while cooking a lovely dinner of Chicken Florentino (chicken breast with Tom Douglas rub, seared on one side, then flipped for a minute, turn the heat off, add a bag of spinach, put the lid on and let it wilt over the breasts), and tomato (from my garden) and sweet onion salad, a little left over home made bread, and a fantastic bottle of wine from Curt and we are home free.

Problem number three. Dead memory card — won’t format. Leaves me with two f0r the trip. Guess that I’m going to Fry’s outside of Portland on the way south, might look at a new inverter too.

Time to get the car gassed, washed, and the tire pressure checked (front looking low), and head for a leisurely drive through Mt. Rainer National Park (got to get my full value out of my parks pass!) on the way to Portland. Staying with Periwinkle — which means I need to get some white wine! Hoping to leave by 11am — have packed a picnic lunch for the Park.
