Morningreport:
Up at 5am, out of the house by 5:30am. In the security line at 6:10am when I realized I left my boarding pass in the car — thank god for electronic terminals rather than lines! Was drinking in the board room by 6:35am. TIP: Don’t Use The Alaska/United Seurity Checkpoint — Even The Handicapped/First Class/Premier Executive/Crew Line Had Forty People In It! Use the middle screening point which is mostly for Alaska.
Mid-day report:
Greetings from the Delta Crown Room at Honolulu international airport, conveniently located (assuming you dont need an elevator which means a long walk) down stairs from the overseas terminal so I have a walk at 2pm for the inter-island terminal Im relaxing after a calm but full flight (didnt get a first class upgrade, poor me) with a Makers Mark and Diet Coke after starting the morning in Alaskas Board Room with a Red Baron (champagne and cranberry juice) followed by a Hawaiian Punch special Johnnys Coconut Rum, cranberry and grapefruit juice. This is the first or second week for flights to Honolulu on Alaska and they are playing it to the max including a free Mai Tai on board the plane that was so sweet it just gave me indigestion. The purchase breakfast was Hawaiian as well fried rice, Portuguese sausage and scrambled eggs. Late in the flight I had a double Glen Livet to pass the time. I brought a ton of reading Im at least a month behind!
The word on connectivity in the Delta Crown Room is bring your own or sign up for T-Mobile Hotspots. Unlike at Alaskas Board Room, the Ethernet jacks do not work, and the wireless isnt free. Thank goodness for Sprints EVDO even if I have to carry around this fucking router on because my close to dead laptop doesnt have a PCMCIA card slot (or more than two working USB outlets). Both room have free booze and mixers, but Alaska has better nibbles ones you can make a meal out of.
Editors Note: They just put out White Cheddar cheese and crackers, with hummus in a single servingcontainer. Odd, but good. Might have to snag acouple for the condo.
