Make List. Forget List.

What is it about shopping lists that always leaves them on the counter when you are in the store.

Item forgotten: salad dressing (can make from scratch in a pinch)

Item remembered that aren’t standard: long stemmed lighter for the stove and BBQ, dishwasher detergent

New computer is almost configured — I can’t keep doing this every six months. Adobe stuff is on, MSFT stuff is on, both on-line cards software is installed. Blogging on it as we speak. Still haven’t gotten Outlook to full my mail feed. More debugging due — meanwhile I’m downloading SP2 which should take an eternity — in the mean time I’m checking how the battery works. Started out with 3.5 hours and 45 minutes later down to 1,5 hours — but then again, it’s been in a box for awhile, so I’ll run it through a couple of fill/drain cycles.

Another thing I like about this laptop — totally runs cooler than any laptop I had recently and you can turn off the cursor pad! Still haven’t turned the screen around and used it like a tablet.

Wonderful food here at Uncle Markie’s Rose Street House — lunch and dinner the same thing. Filet Mignon sauteed with the grilled onions over a bed of mixed greens with poppy seed dressing. You really do get what you pay for with Filet Mignon — tender, juicy, wonderful.

Oh — and the the camera batteries are charged and working great. Turns out on “easy” mode, the digital zoom goes to 16.5 rather than 12x. Guess I should go out and test it. Need to try out that auto-stabilization as well. And read a 132 page manual. Guess I’ll be packing that with me as well.

Back to the store tomorrow for that salad dressing. Thought I ran across Glenn Mankus today at the White Center Safeway — but he was gone by I realized why he was familiar (old college roommate I haven’t seen in 5+ years).
