Starting to feel exhausted, even with the quiet evening last night. On the up-side — I think I’ve run the cold out of my system.
Today is the UN. Got there at about 12:30 — next tour at one (then pushed back to 1:10 because of a private tour). The delay gave me time to send some postcards from the UN Post Office — the usual suspects — A&E, The Ortiz Gang, and Steve. Cool building. Knowledgebale tour guide (from Peru, lovely accent).
After the UN, it was back to Grand Central Station to see if there was room at the Oyster Bar. Once again, I’m eating lunch at 2:30+. Oh well. Two Grey Goose Vodka Martinis, 4 bay scallops in their shell, 3 Virginia oysters and 3 Nova Scotia oysters. Another fifty bucks down the stomach.
Dinner at Mike and Stef’s steakhouse in Madison Square Gardens. My choice — close, get good ratings. Last meal in town. Was going to be three of us — Swanda, his friend Mark, and this Mark. Not to be — add Lars, Anita, and Tammy (from Texas). LOTS of oysters (yes, more), appetizers, and main courses. I couldn’t eat it all.
Once again — I’m packing late at night just stuffing things in bags.
