Getting settled and caught up after all the trips. Things still slipping through the cracks, but not as bad as it could be. Nice to know that my Jury Duty for later this week on the island has been cancelled. That’s a day or two right there.
Met with MoonSong this morning about the shower at the church. Looking less and less like New Years and a shower party. Maybe we’ll have a footing by then.
Afternoon was spent with errands, lots of them. Stop number one, IKEA.
Before actually ordering the couch I was lusting after…
it would go well with Helene’s club chair, and it was $729 — when I checked on-line, the shipping was $350 and with tax total was over $1,000. Was hoping that if I went to IKEA and ordered it, I’d be able to avoid the shipping. But before I ordered — I had to check the “As-Is” section of IKEA in case there was some last minute slightly-abused-marked-down-take-it-as-it-is love seat.
In a perfect world it would have been black with wood legs. In my world it was shocking red, square rather than rounded (to match the club chair), marked down from $499 to three something with 25% off which meant upper two hundreds or $309 with tax. And I could take it home that day rather than waiting for delivery. And here is what I have…
So — after all that, here is the living room before:
and the after:
and also notice the two new footstools and the reading light for the club chair.
After IKEA was the bank to deposit the refund from the Canyon Trip. The answer to the question of how much the canyon trip cost:
This is about $895/person or $42.60/day.
Commercial rates for an 18 day oar trip are $277.50/day, or $5,827.50 for a 21 day trip. Our cost was 15.35% of that.
After IKEA was Safeway where I managed to spend close to $100 when going in for a few items which means I got 10 cents off on gas and filled up.
Next was Graf to pick up my Treo 650 which he revived from the after-world. The touch screen died during the Canyon Trip.
Then went to Wonderful’s for wine boxes — but he wasn’t home.
Damn — I need a drink, and the car is full of stuff. Lots of unloading, checking mail, fixing scotch, fixing dinner, drinking wine, unloading a couch, loading an old couch (for the church), assembling footstools and reading lamps. Damn, busy day.
But it’s done, and so am I.
