So, here we are with the second installment of the saga of “The Legs of Christ“.
So, Alicia buys piece of art. Art is too big for her apartment. Alicia gives piece of work to me, storing under a friends house in Benecia until a pickup truck brings it north. More pieces fall off, crack, fracture. Box of pieces grows.
Two years after the auction, the piece is finally mounted in Uncle Markie’s Home For Wayward Tourists on Capital Hill in Seattle. It’s long trek has slowed, and it is on display to what seems like the thousands of people who have dinner at Uncle Markie’s.
For ten years it (The Legs of Christ) hangs on the wall and gathers many comments about the frame, and the art that it frames. The artist of this piece is known, but not known. We have a name, but don’t know the history. It is loved and revered.
Many years later, Uncle Markie buys a church(which is for sale if you’d like one), and the Legs of Christ are moved to the ex-Episcopal church on Lopez Island in the lovely San Juans.
The Legs of Christ now hang over a custom made 3′x11′ cedar last supper table with pews on either side.
For five years the Legs and her pieces are in the privy of wooded bliss, fewer guests, but still admired. And then the change. Stay tuned for the saga, tomorrow.
