How was that Breitenbush Gathering you might ask (or not)?
Well — it was great even with my bit of a blue funk.
Here is a lovely shot of me in front of my newest favorite cabin (G-1) decorated withe the Argentine flag courtesy of roommate Tusk. His bed mate showed up but changed cabins, and our other cabin mate never showed up at all. Made for a fairly quiet cabin.
I spent the first couple of hours on Thursday shoveling snow. When I arrived there was an 18″ path to the front door. As you can see, now there is a wet bar, two love seats, and a dance floor.
This shot was taken before I got around to putting down some wood chips to keep you from slipping first thing in the morning when it’s still iced over.
During the long weekend I spent a fair amount of time communing with my stack of reading material that never seems to end. Made a dent in it — finished one bad book of gay fiction and several New Yorkers (just in time for Swanda to give me more!)
And speaking of Swanda — here is a shot of Swanda in full auctioneer mode:
It was a good time. Didn’t check email even once (assuming that their up and down connection would hold that long), but left in one of the early waves on Monday morning. Don’t know why my heart wasn’t into this gatherings as ones years past.
