Update from the island.
Forward: the water heater now has it’s own circuit (which is currently turned off).
Forward: I’ve identified which wires are which coming in from the poo pump (that would be the pressurized leach field up the hill that was put in two years ago to meet current code).
Back: the diagram as to where those wires go in the control panel is back at the city house — and after an hour of mucking around on the Orenco web site (maker of the control panel), I’m still not sure I have the right instructions. Well, at least I can get power out there.
It’s a wonderful (but cool) sunny day here on the island. It’s the kind a day that makes me want to keep this place. And then I look at my finances.
Bunches of stuff headed back into the city with me tomorrow. Audio equipment that hopefully Randy-In-All-Worlds will purchase. Files that need to be gone through to work on 2007 taxes. And bags of food. I think I brought a little too much out with me.
So, since I didn’t get around to updating late yesterday, here are the highlights.
Highlight #1: Sitting around shooting with shit with Susan of Blue Toad Design yesterday. Spent an hour or two chatting and drinking Shiraz — now THAT is a nice Sunday afternoon.
Highlight #2: Grabbed the little 15″ LCD TV out of the bus (still stuck to it’s swivel pole base so I had to find a box to set in on) so I could have TV in the back room of the church. There is already cable — but this means I don’t have to turn on the heat in the front room — now there is some serious $$$ saved.
Highlight #3: There is still scotch here from the previous visit — though I’m saving that for tonight. If this diet has done anything, it’s limited the number of glasses of wine or hard liquor I have in an evening. No fat, but calories, calories, calories.
But that was yesterday, and today it’s back to work for me. Run that last electric line, find out water use on cotton plants.
