Phenomenal dinner last night at Jill’s place up north. Marinated leg of lamb done on the grill, asparagus sauteed on the stove, couscous, a fine Pinot Noir from 1998 (time to drink it) and Jewish Scotch (Ben Nevis — from the distillery tour of a year ago). Now that’s a meal.
And speaking of scotch — we also sampled the Macallan Amber — which is very much like Drambuie, but with much more pecan and maple overtones. Two sweet for drinking straight, but did try it in a Rusty Nail with the Ben Nevis and it was better. Nice to get to try it without a) forking over $35 and b) be stuck with a whole bottle.
Taxes, taxes, taxes — the office is a wreck of papers. At least at this point they are all in stacks of like papers, and consolidated from the church papers. Now I just need to get them into file folders and off the floor, and start going through all the credit card statements to tally up medical, dental, hardware, software, and office supply expenses and organize them into some bit of order for my accountant to fill in the blanks.
Got errands run to bring in Swanda’s email, stopped by the liquor store to use the three AMEX gift cards — three bottles of Wild Turkey Rye, and three cans of Club Pre-Mixed Cocktails to use up the last $3.00 on each card.
And now it seems like I’ve got a date for cocktails this evening which means even less time to get this work done. Yikes!
Oh — and somebody asked for a picture of the damage to the bimmer in the parking lot — so here it is. Called about that today as well, more OFF the to-do list.
