Long Beach Here We Come.

Out of the house at noon with stops in Olympia for groceries, lunch, gas, and to drop off Ross’ suit jacket with ex-Councilman Curt. Got to the condo about 3:45 — a few minutes behind the Otterwinkles who were hanging out in the parking lot.

I wish I’d had a moment to take the picture of how overloaded the cart was with clothes, food, booze, computers, the works. Didn’t happen, after checking in, my phone rings, it’s Dad congratulating me on selling Bob. And semi-connected, the guy who sold it to me said he couldn’t find the owners manual — I found it in one of the drawers!

So, the place that we are staying is definitely posh. Three bedrooms, three bathroom (two with both jacuzzi AND four person shower (which is handy since the hot water heater for this unit is only 89 gallons according to the lesbian maintenance worker who came to reset our dishwasher).

I didn’t really get a chance to get settled before all hell broke loose. Calls from Misha who had Larry and Marlowe in tow, headed over to have cocktails with us and check the place out — and then FadoButter shows up with beers in hand. All this while I’m trying to get the router set up so we can all have an Internet connect — let alone trying to watch the news (I am a self-confessed network evening news junkie).

But here, see for yourself:

Just the five of us for dinner tonight. That would be MoonSong, Otter, Pumpernickel, Swanda, and yours truely. Steaks on the grill, baked potatoes, salad, bread, wine — just the typical Uncle Markie evening feast with friends.
