Arrive Inverness groggy at 8:30am. I had a “Whore’s Bath” in the cabin, but now at least am shaved and a little bit of a shampoo on the little bits of hair.
We set off for the Ramada Inverness — and other than picking the “alley” on the map to reach the hotel, rather than the main streats. We are shortly there — to store our luggage since there are no rooms at 8:30am for checkin.
Store luggage, then off to the Vistor’s Center, then to breakfast to look at all the brochures. What we really need is sleep. What we get is a two mile walk of the sights of Inverness. My knee is cranky, it matchs my mood. Sleep, glorious sleep.
Back at the hotel by noon, begging with humor for a room. Our star shines — a room. A shower, a laydown. But now it’s time for lunch. Italian, good, big, time for a nap.
Long, ling nap — two plus hours. We miss the start of cocktail hour and have to catch up. Cocktail discussion is where and what tomorrow. Answer is Kyle of Locksomething on the train, couple of hours there for lunch and maybe a stroll onto the Isle of Skye, then onto the bus for Fort William for the night. Guess we are going to need to pay for expensive internet access — UK11.99 for 24 hours — it was half of that for an hour, so we will be up all night surfing the net.
Dinner in the bar downstairs — Steak for Jill, Spicey Nachos for me (please keep in mind, “spicy” in Scotland means heavy on the tomato paste).
Got to hopefully book a hotel tonight for Fort William, check all the email, and, of course, update the blog.
