Rainy all day yesterday — except for the moments that I was actually able to get up on the ladder and check out the leaking gutters on the east side of the house. The cedar gutters (yes, cedar) after 65 years have rotted out in spots — sending rain down the side of the house in a not good way. Let’s pray for no rot, but will work on a temporary fix until summer (when I might just redo the roof since it’s time for that as well).

Guess today’s run to Home Depot is for roof goop, a 10′ piece of gutter for the garage (rusted out but easily replaceable), and brackets for the pantry shelves, and a Depot Dog.

With yesterday came the news that Chris is giving up the parking space in the garage and that I’ll need to move the car by the end of the month. At $125 that’s one really nice dinner for two people, and his luck with the company car has been like a bad movie nightmare. What that means for me — need to get the garage squared away ASAP.

Below are the plans I worked out after hanging out in the garage thinking about space planning. Wine and stove are going in the small room — not the original plan, but since there is a vent on that side of the building for the old stove, means the spare stove will even have a hood. Both were taken out of the house kitchen during the remodel and are so banged up, they aren’t worth anything, but they still work, so I’ll wire them back in.

But before that — since it isn’t raining, lets replace/repair gutters now that the rain barrels are totally full. The electric pump comes Thursday so I can power water or transfer between barrels.

Jill is coming for pork this evening. Guess I should get it marinating, and maybe build a couple of walls in the garage while I’m at it.
