Out of the house at 10am to make the 11am ferry. Didn’t need to hurry, there was plenty of room. The lawnmower is strapped to the top so I’ll get in the center of the ferry for a quick exit. The rest of the car is packed with large artwork and empty wine shippers. The wine shippers are going to Wonderful to be recycled for the bottles that he sends out. Great use for them!
Had to take a nap when I got back to the house. Just a little one before unloading the artwork into the garage — which necessitated moving and organizing tons of stuff to make a space. Now it’s almost ready for the bimmer next week since Chris is giving up the parking space in the International District.
After dumping that stuff, but keeping the boxes in the van, it’s off to the Longhouse Gathering for the first time in years. Gnarlene has been pressuring me to come back with the line about faerie elders boycotting, blah, blah, blah. Though there was sun Friday and Saturday, Sunday is chilly and overcast. Luckily there is corn whiskey and ice to take the chill off.
Great stir-fry for dinner (amazing when you are making it for 20 people!) and lots of good conversation. I set up a wi-fi hot-spot in the van so people could check their email. Brought the photo printer but didn’t end up taking more than three photos — guess I would have used it if I was there all weekend. Maybe next year.
Slept well enough in the van on the seats that recline into each other. Little lumpy, like a hide-a-bed couch, but manageable. Even had company to keep it toasty warm.
