Well — off to Home Depot for a sledge hammer to get those supports out.
Damn. No wonder they don’t want to come out — the 2x12s go through the deck and are attached to the framing. That might be why the house floor creaks and the deck doesn’t. You could park a car on this thing (or a hot tub).
SawzAll through the nails and the woods and three blades later I have a corner free for the hot tub.
Combine this with lots of Shirts Of Bamboo work grabbing images from the Library of Congress, and the great idea to add all the ManScouts badges as well, and this project is coming along. It’s going to be a massive upload when I get to it.
Unexpected dinner invitation from Darcie and Jeanne (with Jill in attendance as well) — took over my shish kabobs and sausage I’d planned on grilling tonight by myself, and with burgers and sides from the girls, and wine from Jill — we were stuffed.
Had a nice after dinner walk in the neighborhood to see what’s being renovated (always something) and what’s for sale ($900,000 for a tear down on a lot 1,000 sq ft shy of dividable).
Good time. Cute fence installer, nasty girlfriend.
