You would not believe how fast planes were booking when Alaska Airlines announced this morning that they were flying non-stop to both Honolulu and Kauai….. at one point the website crashed (Alaska Airlines site) and when it popped back up there was a red banner — having trouble booking award tickets to Hawaii. They announced this morning that they were taking reservations for the fall.

October 25 (arrive noonish) to October 30 (leave 1ish)

November 1 to November 6

November 8 to November 13

Yes — it’s crazy, but it was the only way I could get the $236.00 ROUND-TRIP fares leaving Thursday, returning Tuesday (mid-week cheapest), and past t-day and into Xmas no more cheap seats available.

The things I do for mileage status. This grueling (well, you end up in Hawaii so it isn’t THAT grueling) schedule means that I will have gotten MVP status (20,000 flight miles) for a total of $987.70 in paid flights (1 Boston for 280 and the three Hawaii) Wow — even I’m impressed!

And totally killed the morning on-line trying to book all this stuff (and snag Wednesday of next week in Leavenworth before Thursday in Coeurdalene).

And back to work on the deck and SOB stuff. Plans for a quiet evening at home working. Need it after the excitement of today (and it’s just noonish!)
