MoonSong showed up a 9am to continue work on the garage — got the last (for now) of the drywall mounted and the first coat of mud on the new section. Primed as much as he could before running out of primer. Shopping list is now:
- New cut in brush (or two)
- Primer
- Big drywall knife
- Stain for the deck
- Look at trailers
While he’s busy doing that I’m off to IKEA and Harbor Freight (to look at trailers). Ended up spending much more than I expected at IKEA — over $150 (had planned on a third of that). Ended up with a dining table for the deck out of teak ($53), two lamps for the living room and a bunch of storage containers for the pantry. The trailers at Harbor Freight are on sale so I’ll probably pick up a 4×8′ to move the trimmer out on the island (and facilitate moving larger loads from the church to the city).
Returning back to the house he also helped me move the temporary couch to the van and replaced it with the one from the church. Spent the day washing the slip covers to get the buffalo hide hairs off it. It’s cleaning up nicely.
Jameson showed up around 9pm for an overnight before his “spike” camp which is part of his internship — in some ways nice since they will feed and house him for the week.
Off to bed too late for the stuff I need to do in the morning before my mini-vacation to Leavenworth (the city in Washington, not the prison in Kansas) with Wonderful.
