So — sleep (well, napped) on the couch rather than actually getting into the comfortable bed… a 3:30am time call (a cabbie term) that I wanted to be 4am, but that was shift change and the dispatcher said either earlier or later, but not 4am if I actually wanted a cab so show up. Love the honesty — and I always go early rather than late.
NOTHING open at the airport, well, there might have been coffee closer to the departure time of 5:20am…. thank god I’m in first class — though that doesn’t get me a meal on the Seattle to Phoenix leg (2+ hours) — I did get a granola bar, some chips, lots of drinks – oh, and the bag of “peanut like substances”.
Got to love the guy I was sitting by on the flight from Phoenix — crossed him self twice. My initial response was “Do you know something I don’t’?” Turns out he does it for hisĀ 7 year old son — he’s a recovering catholic — figures it’s all in the captains (gods?) hands at the moment of takeoff.
First stop Phoenix. Next stop Charlotte, NC. First two flights are on time — third flight is running about 40 minutes late. At least on this half of the trip my first class ticket gets me into the USAir Lounge — no free drinks, not like I need them, but the freebie Diet Coke is a welcome relief from all the Vodka and Cranberries that I’ve been drinking all morning (oh, and there were a couple of mugs of red wine with the chicken Caesar for lunch.
Watching all the coverage of the senator from Idaho that is being hung out to dry by his republican fellows. Here is the link to the police report of his arrest in Minneapolis.

More later if I actually arrive in Tampa.

Salesman samples of 1960’s (early) rotary phones — first checked, $50, last time I checked, $440 — and there are four days to go!
