Got on the road by a little after nine, and it’s ten hours back to Seattle. Mikal made a wonderful breakfast (again!) and I hugged the sleeping Mudd and left.
Stopped an actually sat down to have a bit for lunch, and read a couple more pages of The Sushi Economy, which will most likely get finished in Hawaii on the first of three trips. Yesterday made the rest of the reservations for those trips (cars for Kona and Maui, 5 nights in Waikiki for the last trip – no car) and pondered the Thanksgiving trip. There is a surprise involved, so no bags-out-of-bags other than it contains New York but not Santa Fe.
Decided in the afternoon that I wasn’t going to make it all the way to Seattle. When it was dark and then started raining a half hour from Olympia, that cinched my decision to crash at Curt’s since he gave me the code to the front door. He is in Prosser wine tasting and won’t be home until late — so SURPRISE!
Arrived at Chez Curt at 7:30 and promptly poured myself a strong drink (at least I brought my own booze). A load of laundry and a shower and I’m feeling human again. Amazing was a little hot water will do.
Also realized that Curt’s computer has a smart card reader, so I can post all the Grand Canyon pictures that are on my cell phone for the last day of this four week (shy by a day) trip. Or not — this HP has the same problem as my dead laptop at not waning to read SD cards (or I’m doing something wrong). Maybe tomorrow for that update.
Or tonight — just found the card reader on Curt’s printer… he is such an HP whore. Here is the link to the latest pictures: http://www.twango.com/channel/markso.GrandCanyonTrip
