The Sounds of Church.

Finally. Relaxed times at the church. It’s quite a change from rushing around to this and that because I’m out for less than 24 hours. It’s nice to attack and “non-essential” project — like installing several more sets of speakers in the church — to give the sound a little space to bounce around in.

As of late afternoon (just prior to folks showing up for dinner), there are now a set of Cervin-Vegas (from the parents) on each side of the sanctuary near the dining table, and a set of Bose (from Jimmy) midway down the sanctuary between the dining table and the original wall mounted speakers at the other in.

I got an additional pair installed in the office in the back, but the wires up front required more work that I could do today — and there is always tomorrow.

Curt is handling tonight’s big meal. Osso Buco — veal shanks with vegetables. The end result was stunning, but my god, three hours of fussing with it. I’ll let him do it and I’ll eat it. Of course, out of those three hours he had time to turn out wonderful scalloped potatoes and wilted spinach. Damn fine meal for Curt, Brandon, and myself, along with guests Lynne and Debbie — Debbie being from my neighborhood in South Park.

Big fun. And it was so cool to find a commercial stainless steel warming station (that works!) sitting on a table at the dump. (Which means I also did a dump run today!)

It was an early night to bed, with all that wonderful food — think I was in bed by eleven. Yikes! Doesn’t bode well for tomorrow and the new year celebration.
