A long day on holiday — it’s more like a corporate retreat with all the work I’ve been doing. Balance that with doing business while touring the Kennedy Space Center and you have a strange day. Top it off with a business meeting at the condo, and it’s just “Where’s the Protein.”
Dan and I in front of the thingee that deals with the shuttle and makes it stand up right with no problems or bad sensors.
Yes, that was the technical description.
And you know… I still need to write the descriptions of the unit for the WorldMark forumĀ (not flattering). I feel as I’m out of step with the universe at the moment — and I need to spend another day at the Space Center because we really only did half of it…. albeit the hard hat half.
The view is stunning:
That would be to the right… to the left…
If the unit was up to WorldMark standards, it would be golden. I’m not really sure there is enough room on one of their comment cards for what I have to say about the unit that we are in — which is the top of the line here in Daytona Beach. Guess I’d be happier if I was a biker (for Bike Week) or a frat boy (for Spring Break), but unfortunately I’m not a white trash Fairfield/Wnydham owner, I’m a WorldMark/Wyndham owner who expects a better level of service out of something labeling (and marketed) as WorldMark.
So — the breakdown for the “resort”….
Penthouse — not by any WorldMark standard. No personal hot tub on the deck (or BBQ), no waffle weave robes, frankly — no spices, no saute pan (unless you count the 8” pan). Big unit, that’s a “penthouse” unit. Guess I’d better log onto the WorldMark Forum to give the nitty gritty details.
Now — having bashed the unit, which is comfortable, but with ODD choices in trash receptacles, I should talk about our day at the Kennedy Space Center.
I’ll start by saying I must go back… even with the $40 entry fee (or close to that), plus the $22 up close tour fee. Shit. $130 for the two of us and another $22 for lunch. Shit — the souvenirs! Or as Dan says “That’s not a complete sentence!”
Good tour. Not as good as the Hard Hat Tour at Hoover Dam (with the Dam Dogs for lunch), but it has been good for both of us. Not sure if drinking scotch and discussing business it the best idea, but at least it isn’t the day to day.
Dinner tonight was whatever was in the fridge…. in this case an Idaho potato, a bunch of salad with cheese, the last of the asparagus, a little left over lamb. Not much protein, but a damn fine meal.
And we talk about business into the night.
Did you find out how many gallons of paint it takes to paint that flag?
