Morning Report.

Greetings Earthlings!

My horoscope for today:

Libra
If you want to be more self-sufficient right now, you just need to be braver — especially socially-speaking. Instead of waiting for friends to introduce you to new people, why not just walk up to the interesting-looking stranger and start making small talk? Call up that company and see if they’re hiring. The things you want in life are a lot easier to get than you realize — just go for it. Stop waiting for someone to help you. You can do it on your own!

Maybe I shouldn’t be going to the airport to catch a flight, but staying home and looking for a job!

So far, no upgrade to First for the Denver leg, but then again it didn’t look good for last weeks DC to Seattle flight either. Of course this time I’m not checking any bags and I hate having to board at the last minute with a roll aboard. At least I’ll have had a couple of cocktails in the board room.

Next stop Denver, then El Paso. Check back for the Evening Update.

EVENING UPDATE…..

Made it to El Paso on time. Kate (formerly Marty) snagged me in the lobby for cocktails before we all headed to dinner. Calling the hotel last night to get my Wyndham By Requests number into the system got me cheese and crackers, bottled water, cranberry juice waiting for me in my room.

Dinner in the hotel restaurant — I had a salad since I won’t get one for a few days — and a bottle of wine to share.

Then the presentation, earlier times than I was expecting tomorrow, but I did put in my requests for high rooms and king beds for me, and close to lobby for Swanda.

And speaking of Swanda — power went out last night in the apartment at 9pm locking his laundry in the machine — came on at 8am in the morning…. well after his flight… which he re-booked and is now delayed from the 10pm arrival to 11pm.

And let’s talk about how WILD Texas border towns are… the liquor stores close at 9pm. This I found out after walking a mile (thanks Google maps) only to arrive at 9:15pm. And the mile back. At least the gift shop was open so I could get a postcard for Steve.

So — no orange vodka for Swanda, no Jim Beam for Eric, and no scotch for me. This does not bode well at the start of a trip.

At least the lobby has free Internet access on a couple of computers.

Libra (September 22 — October 23): Monday’s Full Moon illuminates your sector of friendships, making way for new ties and old ties to be restored or reconnected. Venus and Jupiter hold hands together in your sector of home and hearth, paving the way for major improvements in that area. Time for a party! You are on it these days!
