Today is Kristina Hagman’s 50th birthday party — and in her honor I’m making a version of my lamb shank recipe — this time adding a little red wine to the mix, and even made the chicken stock for both the shanks and the saffron rice from scratch last night.
Here is a link to all the cooking pictures — like you care. Recipe is to the left on the menu.
Now spending all day cooking didn’t leave any time for staining boards for the “potting shed”, but I did have time to drive John Weber to the Hill with me so I could pick up my van that I left when I picked up the bimmer from the body shop yesterday after a five day stay in the hospital. The final bill? Several hundred dollars more than the estimate (though my deductible doesn’t change) — $1,554.08 rather than $1,120.46. It turns out that they had to replace the whole mirror assembly rather than just the glass — just as well since their was pimpling on the old one.
And on the job news — actually billed a couple of hours today.
