Victoria, home of Ballarat and the Gold Country of Australia. Last night while doing all the dinner prep, I prepared the eggs and bacon for microwave reheating for this morning (and tomorrow morning since I won’t have much time). Needless to say, they are scrambled and sitting in bowls with saucers as lids — perfect for microwaving, perfect for clean-up.
Part of the reason for the Gold Country Driving Tour is that I’ve prepaid for the gas, so I might as well use it. Best get going early so I can update blog with new photos, etc. on my way back through town to come home to a steak dinner — maybe I’ll use the barbie! That’s barbie, not Barbie(TM).
Here is the route: Sebasapol (where the WorldMark is) to Daylesfor, on to Castlemaine then Maldon looping around through Maryborough then back to Ballarat for email, blogging, the paper, some postcards, glue (for the headphones, they broke again) and back to the resort.
Saw lots of tailings, some abandoned equipment, lots of lovely late 1800’s towns (that I know Steve’s mother would love), had a cold chicken (leftovers) lunch in a park outside Maryborough. A lovely time (and almost half a tank of gas).
The standard paper and a nap for the afternoon, then a steak salad for dinner — this should kill most of the remaining groceries except for half a bottle of dressing and most of a cube of butter. The white wine will die, as well a the Wild Turkey, leaving me the one bottle to put in my check on luggage. Mr. Efficiency.
Off to bed early, since I need to check out at 8am to make my noon flight with no problems.
