Mystery Solved.

Shellfish/Seafood Poisoning. See Link.

That would account for the cramps and diarrhea. I love the advise on the above link…. there is no cure, antibiotics don’t help, but see your doctor as soon as possible. My reading on it is, keep hydrated with clear liquids (after the morning coffee) and this too shall pass. Makes me wonder if I’d just kept on having my evening cocktails Sunday and Monday if that would have helped kill the little bastard organisms. Took some pepto bismol yesterday, and will continue today (which is there recommendation, though I didn’t know it until this morning when I figured out the shellfish connection). No blood or mucus in my stool (yes, I know you all really wanted to hear that) and I finally got around to taking my temperature… a little elevated, but aspirin will take care of that — not 100 degrees. Guess it’s time for a little chicken noodle soup for breakfast.

Guess that’s the last for Tum Tuk Thai on Queen Anne for me. That was Thursday night’s dinner — the combination seafood. And Saturday night was when I felt the first small cramps — 48 hours later. Far end of the scale, but I have a big stomach.

Busy day preparing for Joyce and Jameson’s arrival this evening. Meat to defrost. house to clean, fans to buy even though it rained last night but not enough — or maybe it’s the fever — no, it’s 9:45am and the house is 76 degrees… pleasant compared to the 86 degrees it’s been getting in the late afternoon (hence, the fans).

Any other time today will be for Shirts of Bamboo and Jen picking up her labels.

Shit — forgot that I need to be here from 10-2 for the stove guy! Hope I still have time to make Home Depot for fans, a doorbell, and a no soliciting sign.

Awww! Poor Mark, I am sending cyber hugs in the hope that you feel mucho better soon. There’s nothing like food poisoning, unless it’s food poisoning in conjunction with broken ribs, but that is a story for another time.
