Joyce’s plane finally arrived at 10pm last night — and traffic at the airport was a mad house with all the traffic revisions. But she is here safe and sound.
The morning was fun — had printed my ferry ticket, and had just hit the “submit” button on Joyce’s supplement ticket — when the power went out. And stayed out for the next hour while I’m trying to see if the transaction went through, starting to hook up the computer and the printer in the van to run off of battery power — because if I don’t get the ticket printed, I have no use for a senior passenger ticket.
In the middle of my panic — the power came back on. Then my EVDO card update failed — reinstall. Time. Finally got out of there at 10:45 to head directly into traffic. Stopped at the Calico Cafe and had a great lunch in Anacortes, then off to the ferry at 1:45 for a 2:30pm sailing….. which we missed by one car. Damn Lunch. 5:05pm sailing needless to say we made.
MoonSong was already on the island power washing the bus, which with the rain today, has been pre-moistened. He worked for two hours and gave up and came in to warm up — the rain has been heavy by Northwest standards.
Cocktails and conversation until dinner reservations at the Bay Cafe at 8pm. Ran into Kim and her visiting friend — doing the same thing as me — showing an out of town visitor there Lopez place. Lovely dinner, wine, conversation — but limited sunset with all the fog.
Early to bed — watched a couple of minutes of the news and it was lights out in Bob.
