Laptops and Taxes, But Not Death.

MoonSong in the morning to finish the front walk and garden — and then with project creep a shelf in the wine/art closet. Was up at 8am (before he arrived at 9am) because of a call from Big O about a couple of new tires for the Z3.

Spent the day adding (and subtracting) software to the new laptop. All the graphics programs and Office programs — it’s an all day process — luckily when the tires were in at 1:30 I was able to keep working on the laptop since Big O (or one of their neighbors) has a wi-fi connection.

Curtis came over at 3pm to pick up my old laptop and drop off his dying one — I’d forgotten that the dying one has a couple of keys missing and doesn’t have an internal battery (which isn’t a big deal on old laptops since the internal batteries are usually shot by then). And speaking of batteries — love the one on the new HP — was still at full charge by the time my tires were done.

Managed to get my business taxes done for the state after he left and before dinner with Peg, Jim, Suzanne, and a guy who’s name slips my feeble brain at the moment who appears to be Peg’s BF. Great meal of scallops, halibut, potatoes au gratin, and that white, pink, and red stuff.

Of course, it was interrupted early on by Curtis — problem with the wireless on the new laptop — which means taking programs off, we took something we shouldn’t have when reconfiguring my old machine. He came back over at 9:30 so we could hook it up to the network and download the driver (and finish cleaning his old machine) and have a scotch. Oh, what bad habits I’ve given him!

Still haven’t packed for tomorrows trip — guess that means I’m up at 7am tomorrow. At least all the stuff (other than food) is in a pile on the living room floor.
