Woods, Lake Chelan, what’s the difference…
So on the day of the Iowa caucuses, I have cable in the woods — AND a cable modem. Guess I’d better get some photos uploaded for today’s entry.
Passes (north of Yakima, and Blewett) OK, but Blewett was packed snow and slower going.
Had lunch (after the very basic lame breakfast at the Ramada) in Cashmere at Country Boy’s Southern Style BBQ. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was messy and good. I may be stopping on the way back to try their ribs as well.
Still made it to the resort by 2pm, two hours before check-in. Gas in the van, bargain shopping at Safeway (more Christmas goods for Swanda — perfect for Faerie Coffee this Saturday — and yes, be worried!), and then the snow started. Decided to wait it out at the resort and they got me in the unit by a little after three.
My huge plans for tonight are a steak on the grill (maybe with some links cooked for emergency car rations in case I get serious snow tomorrow), a nice salad, with some sliced eggs from the breakfast bar this morning, maybe the black eyed peas and rice from the new years eve, and the rest of the bottle of red from last night. With a full belly I’ll settle into watching how the first “event” of the 2008 election turns out. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep my dinner down.
And the view from my unit at 4pm. That blue thing in the middle is Lake Chelan.
And me in the kitchen drinking.
